On April 10-11, 2014, the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus and the Skolkovo Fund held an international conference "Problems and Prospects in forming common scientific and technological space and innovation policy in the CIS Single Economic Space." The conference was attended by representatives of government agencies, financial institutions, scientists from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine.
The conference included sessions, meetings, negotiations and round tables. The Belarusian Innovation Fund and IPOboard, the trading system of the Moscow Stock Exchange for nonpublic innovative companies, signed an agreement on cooperation at the round table "Cooperation between Russia and Belarus in the field of venture business." The agreement was signed by Anatoly Grishanovich, the Head of the Belarusian Innovation Fund, and Dmitry Bulavin, CEO of IPOboard system.
The signed document establishes a partnership between the two organizations and pursues the following main objectives and provides for cooperation between the two institutions for development of allied countries in the field of information and advisory support to high-tech innovation projects , especially at the initial stage of development, the use of modern financing mechanisms and leading projects out to profitable operations, the development of public-private partnerships, attracting domestic and foreign investment in long-term projects, ensuring close cooperation between Russian and Belarusian partners. The Belarusian side is interested in using venture financing mechanisms implemented in the Russian practice. Both parties plan close information partnership, joint conferences, exhibitions, round tables, investment sessions etc.
The roundtable was attended by heads of industrial parks of Belarus and heads of leading innovative companies who made presentations and made a number of proposals for the development of this agreement.
